The trials of weight loss
Since January 6 of this year, I've lost 24 pounds. That is over 10% of my body weight. I'm now 6' and 192. I'm supposed to be somewhere in the range of 182lbs +/- 10%, so I'm about comfortable with my weight. My clothing is loose, but the clothes I wore four years ago feel just right. I'm glad my fashion style is 'classic' - nothing is really too out of date to wear.
How did I do this? Well, I didn't suck down a gallon of cabbage soup a day, or go on a total meat binge plunging my body into some state found in medical dictionaries, nor did I even figure out what the fuck a net-carb is. I went on a revolutionary diet called 'eat less, don't down a quart of sugar filled soda a day, stop eating fried food, and exercise more, you fat son-of-a-bitch.' The book was really expensive.
Just about every female in my office is on some sort of diet, and failing miserably at it, complaining that the diet is not working for them. In all actuality, they are not working for themselves. It's a shame that coroners have to choose causes of death like 'congestive heart failure' and 'myocardial infarction' when better, less scientific terms like 'apathy' are available and certainly appropriate.
